To get a varied check on their different server it must be noted that for this review we used news1.meganetnews.com to check text groups, news2 to check the movie group and news3 to check the cd.image group. Group count is from news1.
With a varied number of servers to choose from Meganetnews is a good secondary news service to compliment your ISP's news server. With retention in binary groups running at 6 days they are in the average range as far as premium news providers go, but above most ISP news services.
Meganetnews lost points due to speed and retention. However if you are a heavy binary user this may be an excellent choice for you as they offer an unlimited plan, and we all know how easy it can be to download large amounts of binaries from usenet.
